Welcome to the Gallipoli 2015 Centenary Tour website

Our aim is to support students and their families as we prepare for this extraordinary venture.

Twenty high school students from rural New South Wales are making a pilgrimage to Gallipoli in April 2015. Representing one of twenty different schools and some 15,000 Hunter Valley students from the State, Catholic and Independent Schools systems, each student has passed through a rigorous selection process. Each student will now represent his school, her community, their nation in Turkey in April, 2015.

These young Australians have the credentials to do so:

  • Many are direct descendants of Gallipoli or World War I veterans
  • Each is an outstanding representative of their school community, promoting a youthful perspective of the ANZAC tradition and service to the nation
  • Each student has undertaken and presented an historical research project featuring a veteran of the First World War
  • All are actively fund-raising for the tour.
