Before Boarding the Ship

Pass through immigration prior to boarding. Staff have the right to remove any food or beverages  found in your luggage.

Follow this link to our ship: MSC Opera.

Check-in Procedure:

  • Drop luggage at designated area at port (it will be delivered to our cabins). Ensure that scanned luggage labels are attached to all luggage.
  • N.B. we will receive these luggage labels as part of our e-documentation before we leave Australia.
  • Go to check-in desk with e-cruise documents and passports. Documents will be checked.
  • Each passenger will be given a Cruise Card.
  • The chaperones will arrange for each of you to receive a Cruise Card.  This will double as your swipe card “key” access to your cabin and as a pr-paid debit card for purchases made on board. You have the option of preloading your cruise card with either 30 or 50 euros. You will need this to make any on-board purchases since the cruise ship runs on a cashless system. If you overspend the card will need to be topped up. You cannot redeem any unspent portion on your card at the end of the cruise.
  • (Notes: each passenger will need to register a current valid credit card (VISA, Mastercard) or leave cash. The use of Debit Cards (VISA/Mastercard only) is accepted but discouraged. See http://www.msccruises.com.au/au_en/Already-Booked/Before-The-Cruise.aspx. Personal cheques are not accepted.)
Evening

18:00 hours. Depart Venice.

And it will be a spectacular departure. Great views of Venice.

Dinner on board the MSC Opera. Then there will be time to explore our home for the next two weeks before we retire. If we’re lucky the moon may guide us through the Adriatic tonight. The light of Diana was full only the night before.
